Space Marine 3 Wishlist

In case you missed it, Space Marine 2 was one of my favorite games of 2024. With Space Marine 3 officially in the works, what new features or fixes do you want most?

Here's my top 5.

More Early Weapons. The game has plenty of cool choices, but for the first half or so, options are limited to a bunch of bolt rifles that are mostly indistinguishable. It makes finding them on the battlefield anticlimactic, particularly after playing operations knowing there's cooler stuff. Having to wait hours into the campaign is unnecessary. I'm not asking for the BFG in level one, but give us some variety, man.

Less Green Goblins. The flying surfboard Zoanthropes look awesome and are OK to fight at first, but they're constantly going behind you and... Space Marines bank like the Titanic. In open spaces it's fine but in tight corridors or as part of massive waves, they're more annoying than a tactical challenge.

Skip Campaign Pre-work. In each campaign level, there's some walking around the ship required to talk to somebody. On the first playthrough it's fine, a little slow but not terrible or anything. On replays though, it's grindy and unnecessary. I wanna see the levels again and find the data slates I missed. Having to ride an elevator to walk a mile to talk to creepy preacher guy then back before I can play is tedious and ends up taking away from the experience more than adding to it.

Microphone Matchmaking. I hate using a headset if I'm playing online without people I know. Doc mic'd up in Elden Ring? Not a chance. But in a game like this on Ruthless or Lethal modes, it's a must. Having a checkbox to be matched only with players that get it- using their mic to coordinate attacks the way game was designed for would be great.

New Enemies. This one is probably obvious and coming anyway, but I'm excited for the new baddies. I know little about the 40k universe besides that there's dozens if not hundreds of factions, so I'm most stoked about who we get to square up against next and learning their backstory.

See you out on the battlefield, Marines!
