What happened to the mascots?!
Do you remember video gaming mascots!?
Always fighting to the bitter end , to one-up each other on which character looks cooler or has better super power, and perhaps just has more loveable family appeal?
I think video game mascots have gone the way of the dinsoaur! Totally extinct perhaps? I hope not! Or maybe the dualing rivalry between platform mascots have been replaced by pure fanboy-isms!!
A once competitive rivalry for animated fame & fortune seems to have gone underground.
“I am the all-knowing Polygon Head of Judgement”
” I posess all the powers of the gaming realm and will find me synonomous with all that is gaming. You will think of only me!! ”
Ughh, yeah. That was certainly short-lived. That wretched attempt at a next-gen gaming mascot for the original Playstation was an ideal that no gamer was ready to embrace!
So, I’m not really sure what is worse at this point. Whether it’s the awful & arrogant showboating of video game characters from yesteryear or the new school fanboys that will troll fanboards and post fanboy-isms until you beg for there forgiveness & get on your knees & worship the game system they play on.
Should we bring back the gaming mascots & place our bets or do we let the Trolls roam free?!
I say bring back the animated rivalries because I know that one day these great leaders will show us the way!
