Australia’s version of the ESRB tips us off to a new OutRun title, with online features.
OutRun is a beloved series in many gamers mind. The title is the first smash-hit arcade racing title that I recall, and being a SNES fanboy when I was younger, that should mean a lot. It now seems that Sega is working on a new title in the series, currently called OutRun Online Arcade, possibly with developer/publisher THQ.
According to a recent media classification by Australia’s Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC), OutRun Online Arcade is the be a multiplatform release with a note, “gaming experience may change online,” pointing to it being grounded in online play. We should mention that Sega did previously use THQ to distribute their products in the land down under, so the collaboration may be nothing past that.
OutRun previously hit the console scene with OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast for 360, PS2 and PSP. More as it comes. Hey, the last one of these things, also involving THQ, worked out.
