PSP Brite Will Have Same Battery Life As PSP-2000

Sony comes out to set the record straight on PSP Brite’s battery life.

Hardware Mareting Director John Koller updated the handheld community on the new PSP’s battery life. The PSP Brite, or PSP-3000, was reported to have a slightly shorter battery life than its predecessor but Koller says that was all a mistake. Koller assures the gaming public that the PSP Brite’s battery expectancy is the same as the PSP-2000.

Therefore, Brite will run for “about 4 to 6 hours for games and about 4 to 5 hours for UMD videos.” Koller does note that the “enhanced screen” draws a little more power, but that the overall system uses a little less. Effectively evening out the difference.

PSP Brite will hit retail next month.
