Meteos Coming To Xbox Live Arcade In Japan

Meteos Logo

Q Entertainment recently announced that Meteos, the action arcade puzzle game that was first released on the Nintendo DS is going to be getting an Xbox Live Arcade port.

The original Meteos required players to link matching blocks together in order to set them off like a rocket ship, shooting great piles of blocks to the top of the screen and keeping the playfield on the bottom as uncluttered as possible.

The Live Arcade port which will be called Meteos Wars is the first time the game will offer multiplayer battles, with two players fighting it out against each other at once.  Each player will have gauge that fills up when they set off blocks or withstand an attack.  In addition filling the gauge unlocks a special attack that obstructs or annoys the player in some way, messing around with their blocks or the ability to control their pointer.

Meteos Wars will also include a few other extras, which will include characters that players can decorate by completing and reaching certain achievements.  Meteos Wars is scheduled for release on Xbox Live Arcade in Japan in October, no North American release has been announced as of yet.
