Hellgate: London Closing Down In Early 2009

Hellgate: London going the way of Mythos.

We have been following the tail of Flagship Studios and their two MMORPG projects, Hellgate: London and Mythos, for some time now. The company’s first – and last – title, Hellgate: London was to remain open in the short-term thanks to the graces of the products publisher in North America, Namco Bandai.

They told us back in late July that the suffering MMO would remain online for the time being, “The game is up, the servers are not going away in the short term and any major changes to status will be communicated in advance.”

Move forward three months and change and they finally have that announcement they wanted to make. Namco Bandai announces that the failed title will remain online and free of charge until closing on February 1st, 2009. Get all your demon killing in while you can, and for those that purchased the “Founder’s” package, ouch!
