CliffyB blasts PC gamers for piracy and says that Gears of War 2 is nearly gold.In a recent Q&A session CliffyB (yes, I am still calling him that) tossed around the old “piracy is the end of PC gaming” mantra that has become so prevalent in recent years.
When asked what was the main platform for the upcoming third-person shooter, PC or Xbox 360, CliffyB stated “The PC right now is a fair amount different to what it was back in the day, with all the badly integrated video chips. Here’s the problem right now; the person who is savvy enough to want to have a good PC to upgrade their video card, is a person who is savvy enough to know bit torrent to know all the elements so they can pirate software. Therefore, high-end videogames are suffering very much on the PC.”
“Right now, it makes sense for us to focus on Xbox 360 for a number of reasons. Not least PCs with multiple configurations and piracy,” CliffyB continued.
While the Xbox 360 version is “close to going gold” Bleszinski states that there is no chance for a PC version.
Guys, you can just admit to the gaming public that you make more money on the console side of things. Most of us will understand that bit of business. However, I find it highly unlikely that Gears of Wars 2 would lose money if it was ported to the PC like its predecessor.

Yea, because 360 games can’t be pirated? Please, this is why publishers just need to realize that even though things are getting pirated, games are still being played.
