Hey there classic gamers! It’s Sweet Johnny Cage and I’m bringing you a very cool new retro product that will bring very good protection to your classic NES and SNES titles! This new line of products is called RetroCases. It may look familiar, but that’s why it’s classic. These RetroCases are modeled off of Nintendo’s proprietary cartridge sleeves for the NES and SNES (the black sleeves for the NES and the clear sleeves that the SNES cart would snuggly slide into). Let me give you a little back story on why these sleeves disappeared all those years ago.
Back in the 80s and early 90s, all Nintendo games (both the Nintendo and Super Nintendo) came with protective sleeves that would help keep the dust and grime out of your favorite titles. However, when production costs had to be cut to increase profit, Nintendo chose to do away with their protective sleeves, leaving gamers in the dust, sometimes literally.
