Bill Roper, a co-founder of Flagship Studios, joins Cryptic Studios.
While not entirely Hellgate: London related, the saga of that pseudo-MMORPG and its developer, Flagship Studios certainly does. Bill Roper, a co-founder to Flagship and formerly of Blizzard Entertainment fame, has moved into a new position with Cryptic Studios. According to reports, Roper is participating in the production of their anticipated MMORPG, Champions Online, in a design director capacity.
Cryptic Studios has numerous MMORPGs under its belt, including City of Heroes and Villains. The company is currently working on Star Trek Online along with Champions Online.
“Bill brings a ton of creative energy to the Cryptic office and we’re thrilled to have him join our team,” said John Needham, CEO of Cryptic Studios. “His years of gaming and online experience are huge assets to all of our projects, and Bill will assist us in furthering our studio’s vision to create innovative, exciting MMO gameplay.”
