
The upcoming Japanese release of the Nintendo DS rhythm game Band Brothers DX, will let players share tracks that they have created.
The original Band Brothers, known as Daigasso! Band Brothers in Japan, was a rhythm based game in which you actually performed parts of the songs, or created your own. It was also the first game to use the DS download service in Japan, with the downloaded tracks then saved on the game card.
Band Brothers DX will take advantage of the new “Speaker Channel”, which is currently only available in Japan. The channel will allow players to stream their created music to the Wii, and have it played back on the console.
The first game was scheduled to be released in America, but Nintendo decided to cancel its release. But with the sequel showing connectivity between the Wii and DS, and with the release of the “Speaker Channel”. Nintendo may consider releasing the game stateside.
Band Brothers DX is scheduled for release in Japan on June 26th.
