Asheron’s Call Celebrates 100th Update

Turbine Entertainment announces that Asheron’s Call has made it to its 100th update.

Asheron’s Call launched for the PC in early November, 1999.  That is just two months after the SEGA’s final hardware attempt, the Dreamcast.   Between that StarCraft, I was busy.  The now-dated title was one of the first successful MMORPGs to be set in a seamless world and was even purchased back from publisher Microsoft by developer Turbine. The title has even lasted longer than its sequel, Asheron’s Call 2: Fallen Kings.

Now in its ninth year, Turbine is happy to announce that the title recently received its 100th update, an impressive feat. The new update is no simple patch either, but a content update. Players can now experience the new faction system, two new towns for PvP, a new loot faction and other goodies for the people of Dereth.
